updates

been some time since i last updated. busy with stuff, as usual. loads have happened so i guess its time for some updates.

1st up, i wont be going back sg during winter this yr, as some of u might alrdy have known. my aitix have been cancelled, mainly cos ive spent too much during my spain holiday and ive got 3 assessed essays to submit this coming january, all of which require considerable research to be done. so i'll see all of you in summer. meanwhile i'll just drool in my bed everytime i think of kway chap, sliced fish beehoon soup, sambal stingray, meebok dry with loads of chilli, chongqing mala steamboat... ok i realised i can go on forever.

2ndly, if anyone's curious abt how has my xmas celebration been, well, it's pretty happening actually. the 7 of us decided to do something prodigious this xmas since we are all stuck here in the bitter cold while our fellow comrades must be enjoying the festive spirit back at home, happily basking in the golden rays everyday. yup and so we started a bbq right in the middle of the piercing cold, out in the open. oh and fyi, the temperature here now dips all the way to minus 3. anyway the food was fabulous, the marination was first-class. and yes, i was part of the marinating team. so yup tts abt it. oh and we exchanged gifts and watched 'love actually' together. awww. tt was my 3rd time watching it.

ok lastly, abt my spain trip. well, me and 4 others made our way down to madrid and barcelona for a 8-day trip on 17 dec. highlight of the trip got to be the process of watching the match between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid live, in stadium Nou Camp in Barca. it was not the fact that we were watching a Spanish league match live in stadium tt made it the highlight. it was the process of watching it. imagine being seated right the the top of the stadium for 3 continuous hours, with strong winds continuously blowing right at your face. and mind you, the temperature then was probably ard 5 degrees. thats as cool as your home refrigerator. and the winds werent helping. the two girls, including myself, cldnt stop shivering the whole time, even with 4 layers piled on our tiny frames. the guys too, just tt they were too into the game tt they prob cldnt care less. and they didnt serve hot drinks. quite an experience indeed.

we stayed in a decent but lawless hostel in Madrid which had youngsters shouting across levels at 4am in the morning. in Barcelona, we rented a cosy, almost perfect apartment for 5 nights. it was a nice little home with a tiny kitchen and 2 bedrooms. everything was clean, modern and well, cosy. oh and if anyone's thinking of going Spain for holiday anytime soon, pls rem to learn some Spanish. cos those ppl know almost zero English and everything was written or said in Spanish. we were forced to learn Spanish fast. the Spanish were generally harmless but rude beyong belief. had a hard time communicating with them throughout the trip. but overall, a decent holiday.

i'll be heading down London on 27th dec for the boxing day-cum-winter sale. will be doing nonstop shopping for 2 days since all prices are expected to be slashed, esp the big brands. if anyone has smth in mind, try ur best to contact me and i'll prob help u check prices and get for u if the price is right. but of cos, 'yi shou jiao qian, yi shou jiao huo'. ;)

ok pictures later, as usual. meanwhile, Merry X'mas everyone!
