come next thursday, my long easter hols will finally begin. 21 days of packing, unpacking, travelling and all that jazz will be driving me insane and leaving me little energy to do some decent catching up academically. im crossing my fingers and praying hard that i will do ok for the end-of-yr exams in late may.

the number of lectures i've attended for the entire year can be added up using my 10 fingers, probably 5. and that's out of 200 lectures maybe, or even more. aiya i'm just so dead la.

anyway, guess what? students from temasek poly will be coming down leicester for a study visit next friday. and most probably, gerald and i will be giving them a talk on our uni life here. i know it sounds dumb but i got all excited while reading the email sent by the sch - more singaporeans! but well, that's on the back burner.

more importantly, the latest update on my intent to save - futile and it's cleaning me out. very soon i'll be poverty-stricken.

updates

caught leicester city v leeds united on home ground last night. we were sitting only 3 rows away from the pitch. pretty exciting since that was only my 2nd time watching a match live in stadium, and the 1st to ever sit so close to real-life soccer players. great pity i don't know any of them.

had high hopes for leicester city since it's supposed to be way better than leeds, even placed 6pounds on them to win. but they let me down with a cruel draw, 1-1. well, a small price to pay for patriotism. learnt from a friend that leeds utd was a good team in the top division (premiership) but the chairman brought them down to championship singlehandedly just recently due to inappropriate use of funds, and they are apparently at risk of dropping another division. no wonder the leeds fans, though a minority in the stadium ytd, was a riot. to add insult to the injury, near the end of the match, leic fans shouted "going down, going down, going down". pretty mean thing to do i would say, but it was fun, and funny.

well, sch hols are approaching, 2 more wks to be exact. will be heading down to london end of march for The Shins concert, and the 2-wk holiday destinations in april include hamburg, berlin, prague and budapest. whilst there, will be going on water-rafting, bobsledding, and hopefully rally driving amongst other things. in late april, if all things go well and i am still surviving, will be heading down to newcastlle for a match between NCL v Chelsea. whoopie. but sigh these activities r not c-h-e-a-p. aiya what to do... adventure is my Achilles' heels.

my avowed intent is to scrimp and save, starting this May!
